Higgsfield vs Runway is a choice between two kinds of AI video tool. Runway is a creative suite built around its own video model, Gen-4.5. Higgsfield is a studio that lets you pick from many video and image models, its own and other companies’, in one account.

The short answer

Choose Runway if you want a free plan to try first, clear published prices ($15/mo, or $12/mo yearly) and mobile apps.

Choose Higgsfield if you want many models and ready-made effect presets in one account, and you’re fine checking its price in your country first.

Higgsfield vs Runway pricing and credits

Both tools sell monthly credit allowances. A credit is a unit you spend each time you generate a clip or image; longer, sharper or more advanced output costs more credits.

Runway pricing

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearlyCreditsGen-4.5 video
Free$0—125, one timeA selection of models
Standard$15/mo$12/mo625 a monthAbout 52 seconds
Pro$35/mo$28/mo2,250 a monthAbout 187 seconds
Max$95/mo$76/mo9,500 a monthAbout 791 seconds

A year of Standard costs $144 billed yearly or $180 month to month. The Gen-4 Turbo model stretches credits further: Runway lists about 104 seconds on Standard. The Free plan’s 125 credits don’t expire, so you can test at your own pace.

Higgsfield pricing

We couldn’t confirm a US price. Higgsfield’s pricing page is built in the browser, and on different visits it has shown different plan names and prices. Reviews from June to October 2026 also quote different numbers. So we don’t print one here; see Higgsfield pricing for what we know, and check higgsfield.ai/pricing in your country before you pay.

What its pricing FAQ did say on October 12, 2026: subscription credits expire at the end of each cycle, prices exclude VAT, and each model has its own credit cost. Some plans include time-limited “unlimited” use of selected models, which can be slowed at busy times and doesn’t apply through the MCP server or API.

How to compare them fairly

Don’t compare monthly fees alone. Work out the cost per second of finished video. For Runway Standard that’s $15 for about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5. For Higgsfield, take the plan price you see, then divide the plan’s credits by the credit cost of the model you’d actually use.

Video models and quality

Runway mainly sells its own models. Its pricing page lists Gen-4.5, which Runway calls state of the art for motion quality and prompt adherence, plus Gen-4 and Gen-4 Turbo. Paid plans include all video and image models in the app.

Higgsfield is a model hub: one account, many models. On October 14, 2026 its homepage named Seedance 2.5, Nano Banana Pro, NANO BANANA 2.1 and Wan 3.0, next to its own Genjutsu, which moves motion from a clip into a new scene or swaps details while the rest stays as filmed. The line-up changes often, so check the model you want is listed before you buy.

We haven’t tested either tool hands-on, so we can’t tell you whose video looks better for your prompts. The fair test is to run the same prompt on each.

Editing and workflow

Runway

Runway works like a creative suite. Paid plans add 4K upscaling, and Standard and up add music, voice and sound-effect generation. Max adds HDR and ProRes output for editors. There are iPhone and Android apps, and Runway Ads makes and localizes ad creative with human approval built in.

Higgsfield

Higgsfield leans on ready-made formats. It has a library of effect presets (ready-made visual effects such as “High flip” or “World morphing” that you apply to a shot), Ads Studio for product ads, AI Influencer Studio for a virtual presenter, and Cinema Studio for cinematic scenes. Katana turns your existing clips into an edit from one text command, and there’s an After Effects plugin.

Runway: who it’s for / skip it if

Who it’s for: creators and small teams who want one dependable model family, clear prices and a free start.

Skip it if: you need a lot of video each month on a small budget. Standard’s 625 credits are under a minute of Gen-4.5, and they don’t roll over.

Higgsfield: who it’s for / skip it if

Who it’s for: social creators and marketers who want many models and ready-made effects without separate subscriptions.

Skip it if: you want free credits to try with or need a price you can plan around. The free tier has no credits and watermarks everything, subscription credits expire each cycle, prices exclude VAT, and the pricing page changes often.

How we compared them

We read each vendor’s pricing page, homepage and help center on October 14, 2026, using a US connection for prices. We haven’t tested either tool hands-on yet. We left out Higgsfield’s price because we couldn’t confirm it, rather than guess. Higgsfield’s affiliate link didn’t change our picks.

Other options

Luma AI includes commercial use on its entry plan and gives more credits. Pika is the cheapest paid start for personal projects. FAQ

Is Higgsfield better than Runway?

Neither is better for everyone. Runway suits people who want one well-known model family, a free plan to start and published prices. Higgsfield suits people who want to switch between many models and use ready-made effect presets in one account. We haven’t tested either hands-on, so this is based on their official pages.

Is Higgsfield cheaper than Runway?

We can’t say. Runway’s Standard plan cost $15/mo ($12/mo billed yearly) on October 14, 2026. Higgsfield’s pricing page is built in the browser and has shown different plans and prices on different visits, so we couldn’t confirm a US price. Check higgsfield.ai/pricing in your country, and compare credits per second of video, not just the monthly fee.

Does Higgsfield have a free plan?

Only a limited one. Higgsfield’s help center says you can generate without a paid plan, but with a small set of models, no credits and a Higgsfield watermark on every result. Runway’s free plan includes 125 one-time credits that don’t expire.

Do unused credits roll over on Higgsfield or Runway?

Mostly no. Higgsfield’s pricing FAQ says subscription credits expire at the end of each cycle. Runway’s Standard and Pro credits don’t roll over either; only Max carries unused credits forward for one month.

Can I use Higgsfield or Runway videos commercially?

Yes, according to both help centers. Runway says the content you create is yours to use without non-commercial restrictions. Higgsfield says its terms don’t restrict commercial use and don’t tie it to a plan, but it warns that watermarked files may not suit commercial work. Neither guarantees your output is unique, so check the terms for client work.

Does Higgsfield use my videos to train its models?

Its July 2026 summary of new terms (effective August 27, 2026) says it uses content to improve its models, deleting your account stops that use going forward, and Enterprise agreements can exclude your data from training.
